Big changes around the house. Been getting some good ones(tubes) out back. Even got big enough to ride the dagger tail 7'6 a few days. The shaping bay is not finished but fully functional. The biggest news, of all I'm a DAD scary...

Today was the biggest day I have seen this year 12ft at 14sec... sorry I left the camera at the house. But last week I did bring the camera.

Yesterday...

Got a mini simmons from the glasser the otherday. I really like surfing and shaping these board right now. I love the way they feel in the water.

Heading south for surf, fun, and ASR.Surfed Moss Landing this morning, I had a blast. The off-shores blew till 12:00, it was warm and the sun was out. Picked up a few board to deliver down south.

5'6 x 19 x 2.5 for Seth
5'10 x 22.5 x 3 chunky monkey for me to slide.
Can't wait to get this wet in the morning, Moss should be about like it was today, fun fun fun. While I'm down south I going to pick up blanks if you think you might want a board soon let me know. By the way Seth called and ordered that 5'6 10 days ago, I'm on it and so is Mark my glasser.

I was going to build my freind Nick a 5'6 twin fish. I was half way finished with it when Nick happened to call. He wanted me to put some concave in the deck, like how Pavel does his speed dialers. I added the concave, then the board looked too small for Nick... but perfect for my buddy Jeremy, who already wanted a 5'4 Twin.

I was going to make another fish for Nick. I called him before starting to make sure what he wanted and he had changed his mind. He had, he wanted a 5'6 CI Biscuit copy. He gave me some dimensions he found on Swaylocks. In my shaping room someone had a machined 5'6 CI Pod... somewhere between the phone call and the shaping room I confused biscuit and Pod.

So, I shaped the board to the dimensions Nick gave me, with the bottom contours and fin placement of the Pod and my own foil. I'm going to call it the Blob. I'm not really sure if Nick wants the Blob or not, if you want it, it can be yours for the low price of cost which is $270

The surf has been so fun right behind the house the past few days. It's unreal how the best peak on the beach is straight out back. The only downside is that the word is out and it is unusually crowded, there is still plenty of room though . When the waves are so good, everyone is stoked. I tried to get a few shots everyday. These are a few of my favorites mostly tubes (what's better?).

A lot of fun split peaks, I love sitting with goofy footers and snagging the rights.

Last weekend I went to Santa Cruz and surfed the swell. I stayed the week at sunset beach and surfed chest to head high fun waves and shaped a few boards. I shaped a step up 6'3 semi-pin, an 8'4 mini longboard, a 7'6 gunny minigun, and a 9'4 noserider. I almost put the fin on the tail of the noserider, then it would be a proper log.

Back at Ocean Beach, the swell was stormy and the swell was building all day today. The winds were light until the afternoon when it went off-shore pretty hard and it really shaped the waves up. It was so late in the day I was not sure if I had time to suit up and find a good rip and be able to make it worth the paddle battle before dark. I only saw two, maybe three, guys out from mid beach north (there might have been a few people south of Ortega).I watched for maybe an hour and this was the only wave ridden and it did not end as pretty as it began.

When there is a lot of swell in the water and it is still building, it is crazy how big some of the sets are. The bumps out the back are easily a half mile out.
